Eyris® Smart Glass Facades Boost WELL Certification for The Precedent Building Renovation
Eyris® has partnered with Yugening Architecture and Union Investment to provide solar shading glass facades for The Precedent building renovation project. The aim of the project is to create a sustainable and innovative blueprint for high-end commercial spaces that prioritize occupant health and wellbeing.
Located in central Brussels on the prestigious Avenue Louise, The Precedent is undergoing a sustainable reshaping to meet the Gold level of the international WELL Building Standard certification. The standard is a performance-based system that measures how the built environment supports and advances human health and wellbeing.
The new external facades are cross-laminated timber structures that consist of dynamic liquid crystal glazing. Eyris® has provided 1,160 m2 of s350 glass panels, which enable the maximum amount of daylight to enter the building while increasing connectivity with the tree-lined environment outside.
Eyris® proprietary Licrivision liquid crystal technology allows the glass to be tinted to provide instant solar shading without compromising natural daylight. This feature creates visual comfort, thermal regulation, and color neutrality for workers, while also reducing energy consumption by requiring less air conditioning and lighting.
The renovation project is set to be completed in 2023 and will increase the total floor space of the former seven-story building by 25%. By prioritizing people and the environment, The Precedent aims to set new wellbeing standards for modern office blocks. The WELL Building Standard certification will enhance the real estate and rental value, making The Precedent a premier destination in Belgium, attracting global companies that require premium office spaces.
With eyrise® smart glass as a cornerstone of its vision, The Precedent will achieve the requirements of future discerning tenants.
