BNP Paribas Fortis Headquarters: A Sustainable Oasis in Brussels

In a remarkable collaboration between Baumschlager Eberle Architects, Styfhals Architects, Jasper-Eyers Architects, and Belgian façade builder Eiffage, the new headquarters of BNP Paribas Fortis in Brussels stands as a shining example of sustainable design. With over 100,000 square meters of office space, this passive house is dedicated to renewable energies and eco-friendly materials.

AGC Glass Europe: Leading the Way with Cradle to Cradle Glazings

AGC Glass Europe has played a pivotal role in this project by supplying a range of Cradle to Cradle certified glazings. Among them, the “Pyrobel Vision Line 54” fire-resistant glass takes the spotlight. Offering exceptional transparency, this glass eliminates disruptive vertical bars and creates an open and spacious office environment. In case of a fire, it provides reliable protection against heat, smoke, and fire for an impressive 120 minutes (EI120).

Uncompromising Performance and Aesthetic Appeal

Pyrobel Vision Line offers more than fire resistance. It also provides high noise reduction, efficient thermal insulation, secure space division, and even UV light filtering capabilities. Additionally, the façade boasts the “Stopray Ultra-60 on Clearvision” glazing, ensuring optimal daylight transmission, effective sun protection, thermal insulation, and color neutrality. Inside, “Lacobel” and “Matelac” design glazings create hygienic and visually pleasing surfaces, while “Stratophone” soundproof glass ensures acoustic comfort in the offices.

BREEAM “Excellent” Certification: A Testament to Sustainability

The meticulous selection of materials, emphasis on renewable energy utilization, and stringent environmental management practices have earned the BNP Paribas Fortis headquarters the prestigious BREEAM “Excellent” certification. This accolade further recognizes the building’s commitment to sustainable practices and contributes to a greener future.
